Committee topic: Israeli Palestinian Conflict
Following Israeli independence on May 14, 1948, the region of the Levant has been a geopolitical hotspot. The territory of Palestine has been encroached upon consistently by Israel’s government and the Palestinian government has used terrorist tactics against the state of Israel. On both sides, human rights violations have taken place over and over again. Palestinians have been displaced from their homes by Israelis and several Palestinian extremist organizations have conducted attacks against the Israeli people. As the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), it is essential for you all, as delegates, to come up with a solution to the human rights violations taking place in this region. We look forward to hearing your intricate solutions in February!
